Ecclesiastes 7: 15-18

In this meaningless life of mine I have seen both of these:

the righteous perishing in their righteousness,

and the wicked living long in their wickedness.

Do not be overrighteous, neither be overwise—

why destroy yourself?

Do not be overwicked, and do not be a fool—

why die before your time?

It is good to grasp the one and not let go of the other.

Whoever fears God will avoid all extremes.

Ecc. 7: 15-18

This verse from Ecclesiastes really captured my heart this last month.  Since I can remember, I have always been given to extreme. Usually doing the “right thing” to the extreme, as though it would win me more points (with God/or man). This verse has helped free me from my own works based thinking.  I praise God for his love, mercy and grace in my life. ~ Beth
